About Me

“I am passionate about dentistry because it is a profession that allows me to apply my values of art, science, and sense of community every day.”

I became interested in dentistry watching my aunt help her patients. This interest grew into passion as I volunteered at Community Dental Clinics and realized the need our communities have for oral health care professionals. After completing my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), I continued onto attaining my Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the same alma mater.

Going through dental school every student becomes proficient in a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic skills. Prosthodontists are teeth engineers and it is the part of dentistry that is the most exciting and intuitive for me. I continued my post-graduate training for 3 additional years at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston to gain knowledge and experience in treating the most complex of cases. It is rewarding to give back a person’s abilities to present a confident smile, enjoy foods, and speak clearly. I have developed a passion for prosthodontics because it is an in-depth study that combines my interests in clinical practice, art, and science into one purpose - help others using therapy that is patient-centric and uniquely tailored to their needs. My training also took part at MD Anderson’s Oral Oncology and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics where I gained an understanding of how to help oral cancer patients and be an integral part of their healthcare team.

My curiosity and aspiration for clinical excellence drive me to be an avid researcher with a focus on modern digital dentistry. My continued collaboration with Dalhousie University and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin allows me to innovate and constantly grow my knowledge in the field of prosthodontics (see publications below).

I cherish every moment I spend helping my patients. I strive to deliver the best care possible and use the latest evidence-based techniques to get people out of pain and deliver long-lasting dental work.
